The Bangladesh Mobile Phone Subscribers Association has claimed that 50 percent of the country's citizens are being deprived of online services.

In a statement to the media on Monday (April 26th), Mohiuddin Ahmed, president of the association, said, "The prime minister has said in a video conference that if the situation is not normal, schools and colleges will remain closed until September." The government and experts advise students to study online. But when most of the country's citizens are deprived of online services, it is a question of how all the students in the country will get online services. '

According to the observations of the Mobile Phone Association, the telecommunication and internet system as well as the capacity and capability of the customers are lacking to serve the 160 million citizens of the country. At present about 160 million SIMs are active in the country. The number of internet users is about 90 million. The number of mobile phone users is about 8 crore 25 lakh. Most of the citizens of the country do not have smartphones in their hands. As a result, 50 percent of the citizens are naturally deprived of online services. In this situation, the association has recommended what to do.

First, there is no substitute for accessing online services for everyone. The first thing to do is to build a road. That is to create a network using more waves.

Second, to reach the customer without collateral through easy installments by the operators by removing the hurdle in getting the mobile device.

Third, to provide unsecured connection to ISP operators for providing fixed internet. At the same time, the maximum monthly charge for each connection should not be more than Tk. 200.

Fourth, to bring every school-college under online service. At the same time ensuring class classes and examinations by ensuring the communication of every student of each school.
