The world's proud scientist Jamal Nazrul Islam
The world's proud scientist Jamal Nazrul Islam
As a scientist, some of the people who highlighted the name of Bangladesh in the world, Jamal Nazrul Islam, one of them. Scientific research is about a lot, but poetic research is rarely done as his research. Jamal Nazrul Islam made a world-class research on what would be the future of the entire universe, the ultimate consequence of the universe. Many people are currently researching the future of the universe, but at the time they did, very few people did not do research on this field. Stephen Hawking has done a lot of work on the universe, writing a short history of blacks and being famous worldwide. But Jamal Nazrul Islam has published books on the highlights of the universe. Stephen Hawking's first book A Brief History of Time was published in 1988 and Jamal Nazrul Islam's first book, The Ultimate Fate of The Universe, was published in 1983.
He was not very familiar to people of the country for a period of time. But the person who knows about him has loved the first time. In 1981, he left the country with a salary of Tk 3,000 (2800) and advanced facilities in London. He felt the importance and importance of science education and science research in Bangladesh. Jamal Nazrul Islam has engaged himself in the service of the country by encouraging the children of Bengal in the field of science education and research. Bangladesh has benefited from various aspects of its activities and thought. In this essay, a small effort was made to explain some aspects of the life of this science of transparency and greatness.
♦ Birth and childhood
Jamal Nazrul Islam was born on February 24, 1939. Birthplace Jhenaidah, but its root address in Chittagong As the father Jhenaidah was in service, the place of birth was there. He was a descendent of the family of the noble family, as well as the Nawab house of Dhaka, along with the family of Jordan's Badsha family. But the nobility was not as noble as the pride of the nobility.
Four brothers and four sisters had their families together. Kamal Ziaul Islam, Tareq Moinul Islam, Helal Shamsher Islam and Jamal Nazrul Islam are very similar to one another. Baba Muhammad Sirajul Islam was a sub-judge of Jhenaidah district (Munsif). Mother Rahat Ara Begum was a literary fan, he used to sing songs. Rawat Ara earned rave reviews by translating Rabindranath Tagore 'post office' into Urdu. Traveling to their home was a very high rate of people. Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam also used to visit his Kolkata home. In keeping with the name of Kabir, his parents named him 'Jamal Nazrul Islam'.
His mother was a bright star in Professor Islam's life. But sadly, after leaving the child Jamal Nazrul Islam at the age of 10, he left the world in 1949. Even when the mother lost her mate, she had never forgotten her mother's deep memories. [1]
♦ Education and research
In his childhood, Jamal Nazrul Islam, from the fourth grade, went to a school in Calcutta. From there came to Chittagong. The head teacher was overwhelmed by his talent at admission in Chittagong Collegiate School. Inspired by merit, he gave him double promotions in the sixth grade. Here it goes to the eighth grade of Pakistan Lawrence College. After completing A level and level from Lawrence College, he was admitted to St. Xavier's College in Kolkata. From there, he completed B.Sc Honors under the University of Calcutta. Then went to London's world-renowned Cambridge University. After completing his PhD on 'Applied Mathematical and Theory Physics' in 1964, he signed the credentials.
Education and degree achievement was happening very quickly. At the age of 20 he did two B.Sc. (Second time B.Sc in Trinity College in London). As soon as he got into a double promotion, he got 'Double Promotion' while posting Doctoral. Before completing the doctorate, he joined the post-doctoral study. Usually, post-doctoral research can not be done before completing the doctorate. But he finished the Ph.D. work before the scheduled time. Even when the work is done, the phD is delayed due to not having the time to submit the thesis. So he got a chance to do post-doctoral studies in a special case. [2]
Doctor of Science (DSC) is given a very high level of expertise in science or if it has a very large impact and contribution. In simple words, such people are teachers of teachers, best of all. Our Jamal Nazrul Islam was also awarded the D.C. degree in 1982 by Cambridge University.
He said about himself in an interview with Vishad Bangla monthly mouthpiece Vishal Sangh of Cultural Organization of Chittagong
In 1957, after completing his honors from Calcutta, I went to Trinity College, Cambridge, to make trips to mathematics. Usually it's a three-year course, but I finish in two years. My classmate was there later, India's famous mathematician Narinika. Another classmate was Brian Josephson, who received his Ph.D. thesis at the age of 33, in 1973, the Nobel Prize in Physics. I was one of the senior years of James Merli, who won the Nobel Prize in economics in 1996. John Popell, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1998, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1998. He was my teacher in Cambridge. I mean, to illustrate how rich our field of education was at that time. As I was saying, my PhD thesis was on particle physics or fundamental particles. After three or four years I started working with Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. Later, Cosmology was associated with it. Can say, these three are the main fields of my interest and work. Later, I also worked with fluid dynamics. [3]
♦ Books and research
Jamal Nazrul Islam wrote a number of books including Bengali and English. However, it will be very long if you have a detailed list of books, research and editing. Among them, 3 books are world-famous. Cambridge and Harvard, as well as several Nimdami universities, were taught books in their books. His book "The Ultimate Fate of the Universe" has been translated into several languages including French, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian. Translation of this book is still going on in Bengali, although it should have been completed before long.
The Ultimate Fate of the Universe is its first book, published in 1983 from Cambridge University Press. Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press are very famous in education and publishing world. Their acceptability as well as quality is also world-class. This book, published by Cambridge University Press, gives him world-wide fame and acceptance.
The subject of the book is the final result of the universe's future. Before publishing the book, he wrote a short essay on the final result of the universe in a famous magazine Sky and Telescope. In essence, the essence of the whole book is contained in this article. In this book, Jamal Nazrul Islam writes about the topic that he wrote, here we need to put it here. It was translated into Bangla for the reader's convenience.
In 1977, wrote a scientific paper entitled "The Ultimate Future of the Universe-Possible Ultimate Fate of the universe". The paper was published in Quarterly Journal of Royal Astronomical Society. Some of my colleagues seemed to find the paper interesting and interesting. Immediately afterwards, the science world appeared in Steven Wynberg's response to the book The First Three Minutes. On one hand, colleagues expressed excitement about my research, on the other hand, on the other hand, Wineberg wrote books. In between these two aspects, I thought it would be nice to write a book about the end result of the universe. Soon after that a request was made from an astronomical journal called Sky and Telescope. For the ultimate results of the universe, I would write my research paper in an easy-to-understand language. The article was published in the magazine's January issue of 1979. The title of the writing was 'The ultimate fate of the universe'.
The response that I received after publication prompted me to write a book on this topic. Writing a book with a detailed discussion on this subject is not bad. The combined results of these events are the current book. [4]
Then his notable book is Rotating Fields in General Relativity and An Introduction to Mathematical Cosmology.
The Royal Society of London is a unique name for research on science. Publishing a paper in the Proceedings of the Royal Society, literally means to complete the royal work. Jamal Nazrul Islam published six consecutive research papers in this process. If there is a Fellow Member's Recomendation to publish the research paper here. In the case of Jamal Nazrul Islam, the world renowned scientist Stephen Hawking and Fred Hoyle suggested. The six published papers were 'On Rotating Charged Dust in General Relativity'. Writing on the basis of the study of general relativity and surplus objects, 'Rotating Fields In
General Relativity 'book. In 1985 it was published from Cambridge University Press. Note that in 1982, Cambridge University awarded him a very honorable Doctor of Science for his important and outstanding research published in Proceedings. [5]
Another noteworthy book, 'An Introduction to Mathematical Cosmology'. The acceptance and demand of the book in the international arena is widespread.
Then a significant book in Bengali wrote 'Krishna Bibar', 'Mother Language and Science Studies and other articles' and 'Art Literature and Society'. The Bangla Academy published a wonderful series titled 'Language Shaheed Gothamtala' written by him. A lot like Oxford University Press's Very Short Introduction series. Books published under the Language Shaheed Bendramala series were briefly but in complete detail. Jamal Nazrul Islam's Black Book is also a book in this series. This book, which covers an eighty-page surface, has a lot about the black hole and the black hole, a short but self-contained book. More than that, in 1985, he presented a book full of such high standards of science in Bangla. In those days, the situation of science education in Bengali was very violent. In such a situation, finding such a book in Bengali is really emotional and fun.
He was also absconding outside science. Along with mathematics, physics, biology, music, and economics was also his walk. The books and the research of his books on this subject is a proof. His writings provide an insight into the scope of his writing and walks in both his works, 'Art Literature and Society' and 'Mother Language and Science Studies and other essays'.
In a detailed chat, he says,
"Now I have grown so much, so my work area has grown too much, which I joke, 'Wider, But Not Necessary Deeper'."
Professor Islam wrote two more books. 1. An Introduction to Mathematical Economics and 2. Confiance and Schröldinger Equation for Gauss Theories But unfortunately they were not published in his lifetime. The process of publishing books from the Oxford University Press is underway. [6]
Leaving the English ground and returning to the country
Bidash's soil was studied and studied, he also got the benefits, but he did not want to go abroad permanently. Many merchants of Bangladesh have crossed the day abroad, passing the day. Many of them want to come to the country, but if you want to come? Patriotism should be less and more, at the end of the day everyone needs money only. Although a scientist, he is a man, a scientist but he has a family.
We know about the merits of Bangladesh going out, but we do not know how to give them the right due. There are so many sounds that mercury is being trafficked, but do not take effective measures to keep them in the country. If anyone who wants to come to the country through his own initiative, I do not know how to give him proper value. If someone came from outside to the country, he had to suffer economically. If Jamal Nazrul Islam had this problem, then he might not have been able to leave the country. Fortunately he was a respected family and their economic base was tough. Jamal Nazrul Islam himself said in one of his writings that his family has played a key role in its return to being able to return to the country, the hard economic base of his family.
Even then, the return to Jamal Nazrul Islam was not so easy. He also had to face many adversities in his country. He returned to India in 1981 as a professor of mathematics at Chittagong University for the first time. At that time his salary was eighty hundred rupees. The syndicate of Chittagong University did not agree to pay him three thousand rupees. He was teaching this salary. After studying here for one year, there was a need to go back to London for research work and family needs. When the university teachers went out for research, the authorities gave leave and the jobs were in place until they returned. For this, he applied for leave to the university authorities, but the authorities were not giving him leave. He left the job without seeing the way. In two years he completed his research there. Then in 1984, he sold his house and moved to the country permanently. After that, however, the university authorities increased his salary to three thousand taka and took the middle time as education holiday. [7]
There was not so little of suffering on the country's soil, of course. A little concept can be found on how negative was the situation in the writings of Dhaka University professor AM Harun or Rashid. Harun or Rashid himself is also a great personality. Jamal Nazrul Islam and Harun and Rashid were friends in the relationship. After the death of Professor Islam, he wrote in a literary magazine named Kali and Kalam:
My closest friendship with Jamal was in 1984 when he made the final decision to move from Cambridge to Chittagong. One day he told me from the telephone that he would come to Bangladesh. I said, 'This is a very good decision. But if he submits his application to me immediately, then I can consult with the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University and suggest proper action.
Then I was not ready to hear what he said. He said, he will not go to Dhaka, he will go to Chittagong. Because there is his ancestral building. I tried to convince him that I do not think he would get a good student in Chittagong and maybe there would be obstruction of his research. But he did not listen to those words. His only talk was that I would meet with the Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University immediately with his application. I did that. One morning, after purchasing Chittagong's ticket in Chittagong, he met Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor and told him, "Jamal Nazrul Islam is the wealth of this country. It is your good fortune to bring him to your university." Vice-Chancellor Karim agreed with me and promised that Jamal Nazrul Islam The professor immediately created him in the Department of Physics Arrangement will be arranged.
Sadly, after coming back to Dhaka a few days later I heard that some complications were created. It will not be possible to create posts in the Department of Physics. So a few days later a post was created in the Mathematical Department and after that I went to the University of Chittagong for the second time and after making a special request to everyone. However, in the end, by all sincere efforts and profound co-operation, Professor Jamal Nazrul Islam was able to join the University of Chittagong. [8]

Jamal Nazrul Islam can not do what everyone can do. There is no suitable environment for science research in Bangladesh. Professor Islam is not only for scientists of size like him. Considering this, many people say that Professor Islam should have gone abroad. As a science researcher, at least as a scientist, there was a suitable environment. But what can be said to the person who is dedicated to illuminating others rather than illuminating himself? To him, doing a great deal of his own or getting the Nobel Prize, it was more tranquility for thousands of students behind the motherland to move forward. It is not possible to quantify the total amount of the students who have benefited through him so many years. If Professor Islam used to study his own studies abroad, he would have received some of his interest in the interest-oriented center.
On returning home, he established a research center at Chittagong University for research on astronomy and theoretical physics. Under this, many students are Masters and Ph.D. And there is no room for questioning their standards.
For the country, the sincerity that he showed for the science of the country is truly unique, it is truly unique.
